Welcome to the West Devon Methodist Circuit website,
which covers the Methodist Churches and Chapels of the West Devon area, including Okehampton, Hatherleigh, Northlew and Winkleigh.
Although most of our chapels are not very large,
there are over twenty of them,
and they are found in the various rural villages
of this beautiful part of the world.
On the site you will find details of the different chapels (and when they meet for worship), something of their individual stories plus contact details for the Ministers serving the Circuit and other Circuit officers.

~ Farm Crisis Network ~
While some people have delighted in hot dry days this summer, it has not been good news for many of the UK's farmers. The corn harvest is expected to be poorer than normal which will make it a tough year for many arable farmers. And there is always a knock-on effect for beef and dairy farmers who have to buy in feed. Some farm feed suppliers have already served notice of increased prices. The lack of rain has also resulted in poor quality and supply of hay.
This situation is just one more aggravation in a tough industry, coping with generally small or non-existent profit margins. For the beef and dairy industry the spread of Bovine TB is another serious worry.
It is good to know that the Farm Crisis Network offers free and confidential advice and help when the going gets tough. FCN has a network of competent local people throughout the country who understand farming and are able to come alongside farmers and their families in times of need. No one should have to go through dark and difficult times on their own but sadly, not every farmer knows of this free service. The FCN helpline number is 0845 367 9990. More information about the work of Farm Crisis Network is available on their website at www.farmcrisisnetwork.org.uk.
