The Chapel at South Zeal (also known as Shelley Chapel) is at the Shelley end of the village. South Zeal is a village just off the old A30 and has been part of the main route to Cornwall since the time when the main road was the village street.  The church also serves the parish of South Tawton and there are occasional joint services with the Parish Church in the village.

The congregation joins with Sticklepath and Belstone when they hold their monthly service . Worship is usually held at 11.00 am with occasional services being held at 9.30 am.

Acrostic Poem by Edgar Hucker dedicated to SOUTH ZEAL Chapel: Short of stature, not deterred, On horizon voices heard. Up in the tree he so quickly does go, Then he sees Jesus so near down below. Harassed he felt on this soul-searching day. -------- Zacchaeus, said Jesus, with you I will stay. Entrance is made into Zacchaeus's house. All is forgiven, no grumbles, no grouse. Let Jesus come into your home today.
