Hatherleigh Methodist Church is situated in Bridge Street, opposite the entrance to the town car park and the market.

The present building, with its beautiful stained glassed window, designed by two Church members and made by monks at Buckfast Abbey, was opened in 1983. It was built on the same site as the previous building that had been a prominent place of worship for over 100 years.

Sunday Services are held at 11.00 am and 6.30 pm, with a Sunday Club available for children during the morning service. Worship is traditional, yet informal and inclusive, and both services attract good congregations.  On the fourth Sunday morning worship is shared ecumenically with St John's (C of E) and The Vine (independent) and on alternate months there is an evening Youth Service.

Events during the week include a Prayer Meeting followed by a busy Coffee Morning on Tuesday's market day, a Craft Club and Luncheon Club for senior citizens, an afternoon Ladies Meeting and a Bible Study group which meets in a member's home.

For further details please contact the Minister (John Leach) at 01837 810591 or by email.

Acrostic Poem by Edgar Hucker dedicated to HATHERLEIGH Church: Have you ever stopped and realised Amongst  God's folk one thing is prized? That invites all to play a part - Heart joined in fellowship with heart. Each time we meet it's good to share Religion's gifts and thoughts and prayer. Let fellowship inspire us all, Especially when on God we call In worship, meetings and elsewhere. God help us all our faith to share. Happiness will be the prize.
